Join a quintet of players from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra for an afternoon of chamber music delights.
The concert begins with Schubert’s emotive String Quartet No. 12, D703 ‘Quartettsatz’, followed by the powerful String Quartet No. 1 in C major, Op. 49 by Shostakovich. The romantic Salut d’Amour, Chanson de Matin by Elgar provide a melodic interlude.
The highlight is Mozart’s revered Clarinet Quintet in A major featuring the extraordinary clarinet skills of Katherine Lacy and showcases Mozart’s gift for sublime melodies and ensemble writing.
