All shows can be booked online. Alternatively, book with our Box Office over the phone (01622 758611) or in person at the Hazlitt Theatre, Earl Street, Maidstone, ME14 1PL. Our Box Office is open 10:30am-2:30pm Monday to Saturday. Opening times may vary during Bank Holidays or staffing so it is advisable to contact us beforehand if you would like to speak to someone so we can expect you.  You can also email our box office at hazlitt.boxoffice@parkwoodtheatres.co.uk with any queries however we will never advise you to send payment details by email and all sensitive information should be confirmed in person, over the phone or our secure website portal.

Hazlitt Institute of Performing Arts Play in a Week - Mary Poppins. This is a workshop.

28 July to 1 August.

Workshop cost: £200 per child.

Dick Whittington. This is the Hazlitt Theatre’s annual pantomime. 

Running from 29 November to 31 December 2025. 

Tickets from £20, plus £1 off until the end of August. This discount is applied automatically. 

All ages welcome. Running time is approximately over 2 hours with interval, subject to change.

General Access information

The Hazlitt Theatre is located at Earl Street, Maidstone, ME14 1PL.  Please be aware of the following entrances:

  • Main entrance and box office on Earl Street: what3words ///chat.orchestra.shin: there is one step up from street level to our Box office and then 30 steps up to our main bar and auditorium.  There are then 3 steps down from the main bar level to the standard toilets.  Accessible toilets are located in the corridor directly left before you approach our stalls seating from the main bar or past the Exchange Bar for shows in the Exchange Studio
  • Exchange Studio entrance via Market Buildings: what3words ///simply.fruit.chefs: there 25 steps up from street level to our Exchange Studio.  There are no steps on row which should be fine for wheelchair transfers, however for any fixed wheelchairs or bariatric seating considerations please contact the box office directly.  There is a step up for each row from rows B-F (eg 5 steps to row F and 6 steps to row 6).
  • Access Lift entrance via Rose Yard: what3words ///composers.woof.quiet

 

For our main auditorium we have two bariatric seats available, seats G16 & G17. The width between the armrests of the wider seats is 600mm (a standard seat is 450mm). 

These limited seats are not available to book online. Please request directly through our box office to book. 

Please note that some seats may not be available on certain shows.  There is no lift to the balcony, which can only be accessed by stairs (15 steps).  If you have any further queries you contact our box office in person or over the phone during our normal opening hours, 10.30am - 2.30pm, Monday - Friday.  You can call us or email hazlitt.boxoffice@parkwoodtheatres.co.uk.

The following rows with an 'i' means:

A - Restricted View - as you will be looking up and may have lighting/staging obstructions.  Wheelchair spaces at the end of row A19.

G - Extra leg room -  G16 & G17 are bariatric seats (wider seat- 60cm, standard 45cm).  

Wheelchair and bariatric seats can only be booked directly with the box office Monday - Saturday, 10.30am - 2.30pm on 01622 758 11 or email hazlitt.boxoffic@parkwoodtheatres.co.uk.

 A-F (Front Stalls) - No aisle (left and right side entry only)

There is a path between rows F and G and the entry to our main bar and accessible toilets

G-Q (Middle/Rear Stalls) - left, right and central aisle between seats 10 & 11 entry available

AA (Balcony) - Railing in front of seats

CC (Balcony) - Restricted leg room, approximately 25cm is the distance between the edge of the seat and the railing at its closest point.  CC1-4 & CC14-17 have small railing in front of seats

DD (Balcony) - Caution, especially when dark, at the beginning and end of the row as there is a slight drop to the level of the seats in front

For those with mobility issues please be aware:

  • Wheelchair spaces at the end of rows A19, C19, E19 (must be booked prior to attending directly through box office, as advised above)
  • there is raised seating from rows H-Q of the stalls - step up on H, L & O
  • the balcony can only be accessed by stairs
  • Seat 1 from rows G - Q is against a wall, with narrow side entry G-L and raised steps as above.

For our Exchange Studio wheel chair spaces must be booked through our box office and limited space will be adjacent to front of the stage or row A can be used for transfers:

  • Rows A-F there is a central aisle between seats 10 & 11, with a step increment per row (eg 5 steps to row F and 6 steps to row 6) 
  • Back row G is continuous B1-21
